The attendants of the meeting discussed a number of problems in the mining and smelting industry. Inter alia, they discussed rise of prices for iron-ore concentrate and lack of mechanism for market pricing. The attendants dwelled upon monopolization of ore market and lack of innovation development of mining and smelting industry.
The attendants of the meeting resolved to hold Committee hearings concerning current activity of Ukrainian mining and smelting enterprises on 16 May 2008. The Committee will also hold an exit meeting at one of the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine.
